YOU Can Be a Generational Blessing

I have been so inspired lately by the books of Joel Osteen only because I believe I am always connected to a Source of Power that is much greater. I was intrigued by this reading and wanted to share this with all of you. It can apply to every choice we make in our lives, in our businesses and all aspects of becoming a better you for future generations to follow.
What is a generational blessing or curse and how can you break free from the patterns?

I read of an interesting study done in 1993 by the United States military. They were curious about what traits get passed down from one generation to the next. We know that our physical traits do. What about emotional, mental, and spiritual characteristics? What about bad attitudes, and addictions? Or what about good qualities such as integrity, compassion, and godliness? Can they be passed down as well?
The researchers extracted some white blood cells from a volunteer and they carefully placed them in a test tube. They then put a probe lie detector machine down in that test tube, to measure the person's emotional response.
Next, they instructed this same volunteer to go a couple of doors down and watch some violent scenes from an old war movie. When this man watched the scenes, even though the blood that was being tested was in another room, when he got all uptight and tense, that lie detector test shot off the page. It was detecting his emotional response even though the blood was no longer in his body.
The experimenters did this with person after person with the same results. They concluded that the blood cells seem to "remember" where they came from! Fascinating!
So, this means that sickness, addictions and wrong mind-sets can be passed down also, but so can other good habits.
We need to understand that the generations are connected. You are sowing seeds for future generations. Whether you realize it or not, everything you do counts. Every time you persevere, every time you are faithful, every time you serve others, you are making a difference; you're storing up equity in your "generational account."

With this information, it makes it clearly to see that we all have "inherited" some generational curse AND blessings from our forefathers or mothers from the past. I can see in many areas of my life I carry out things that my parents did whether good or bad, and I can in many areas of my life where I carry out many positive things that I have inherited from the good my family has done and left me with.
Maybe you weren't raised by parents who set you up for success by planting positive characteristics in your family line. Possibly you've inherited attitudes of defeat, mediocrity, addictions, and negativity. But thank God, you can start a new family line. YOU can be the one to set the new standard!

So how can we change some of the curses and turn them into blessings for your future generations?

Somebody has to be willing to pay the price. Somebody has to step up and clear the leftovers on the table. Negative things may have happened in your bloodline, but they don't have to stay in your bloodline. All it takes is for one person to rise up and start making better choices. Every right choice you make begins to overturn the wrong choices of those who have gone before you.
Don't take the easy way out. Keep doing your best even when it's difficult. Keep loving, giving, and serving. Your faithfulness is noticed in heaven. You are storing up equity for both yourself and generations to come.
Indeed you may have good reason for feeling the way you do. But you can still choose to take the high road. Don't give in to negativity! That stuff will get into your blood and be passed down.
I heard somebody say, "Your blood always speaks." What they meant is your blood is "charged" with your experiences. It remembers, as was illustrated by that military study. A hundred years from now, your blood will still speak to future generations. In some way, either positively or negatively, your bloodline will affect others in your family line.
What will your blood say? Defeat? Mediocrity? Unforgiveness? Bitterness?
No, I believe with all the resources that are available today, Your blood will speak: Determination.
Compassion. Persistence. Integrity. Godliness. Generosity. Favor. Faith and victory!

I am forever grateful to my grandmother who has passed down those powerful bloodline traits of forgivness, godliness, compassion, generosity, and to myself who will pass down the rest!

Thank you so much to Joel Osteen, who showed up when the student was ready to hear such insightful wisdom to apply into my everyday thinking and life.

With love and light,
Shannon

Why I love Social Media

I believe social media is an incredible platform of fertile ground in which we have the greatest opportunity to revolutionize change. Since joining Facebook, one of the fastest growing online communities, my life has changed forever. I've been a member of Facebook since November of 2008. I'm not even sure who introduced me to Facebook, but all I kept hearing was "Do you have a Facebook?"

How Facebook has changed my personal life:
Facebook has allowed me to connect with friends from elementary school, intermediate school, high school, friends from those good ole' party days and what not. Even friends whom were not so good influences are reunited with me again. And it's great because I can see who's thriving and well and that's all that matters. I am now connected to all my family members near and far. I can find out anything I need to know about a person through Facebook. How many kids they have, if they are married, divorced, whatever I want to know, it's there. What do people like or dislike all by what's on their personal profiles and info. And for those who keep that at a minimum, we can still see what they like by the groups they add. It's just interesting and fascinating to me. Loads of fun!

Facebook used as a way to "express" who I am daily:
I enjoy this part of my day. Every morning, asking myself "what am I to contribute to my Facebook family?" Is a great way to lead a personal brand image for yourself. It's amazing the way we connect.

Facebook used to establish team building in my business:
I love facebook for the fact that I now have a pulse of what's happening on my team, my customers, my prospects, and other members of our Herbalife family. I can follow my upline leaders on everything! Since having my team on Facebook, it has been a great means of communication and keeping in touch, just by sending a quick line or two to the inbox. If I ever needed to enlist someone for help, my friends and colleagues are always there, ready and willing to extend a hand!

Facebook captures emotion:
I love this part about Facebook too. It allows me to gather my resources of inspiration. I have a variety of friends that I call contributors, people who also give to the community on a daily basis. I have spiritual friends, who keep me on my feet on whats going on with the planet, energy and healing. I have friends that share the same interest as I. And then I have followers and people who always show up with a "thumbs up." I appreciate them all. Having this kind of gratitude and appreciation for Facebook sets my day into a whirlwind of fun, wonder and miracles because it makes me feel good. I also have friends that I call the internet marketers who share information about the social networks. Everyone has value to share and they do. This is what I appreciate most.

I appreciate the Facebook community for the content syndication and the togetherness from all walks of life and countries. This community provides a safe place (if you have the right friends in your network) for all of us to come together, to inspire each other, to congratulate and celebrate the life we live.
I've met so many wonderful people because of Facebook. I have also been able to open my business up internationally and span all across the United States because of Facebook.

Thank you to all of you who join me here...I am incredibly grateful for the experience to network and make a difference each and every day.

You are valued. You are loved. You have favor where ever you go.

The Millionaires Journey: We Become What We Think About

The Millionaires Journey: We Become What We Think About

We Become What We Think About

Ahhh..."The Work." This is THE work I tell ya!

To make it simple: If we think negatively, the mind has nothing to work on but negative thoughts. When we project problems, ill health, poverty, or the like, the mind works overtime to create these things.
Accept for a moment that our mind is our "Genie." It will do exactly what you tell it to do. Now, recall some of the directions we have been giving the Genie, such as: "I'm coming down with a cold... "I won't be able to pay these bills this month", "I just can't stop smoking",  For me, it's "I get a tummy ache when I eat bananas", "I'm not good with numbers", "This time of the month, I usually get tired and cranky", or "When will I ever get this" used to be a favorite of mine.. whatever it is! Say these things out loud. How does it feel? Not to good right? When I say what I'm thinking negatively out loud, I feel pretty junk!
What other things have you said today that are for your harm and not for your good? Strangely enough, after I have given this much thought and took an inventory of what I was saying to myself daily, I was absolutely amazed at the negative programs I possessed! Even after believing that I am quite a positive person, there was still a ton of negative, self-sabotaging thoughts that were constant companions!

After looking at my personal life, there is one thing that I am sure: People get what they want in life when they reach the point at which they can see themselves having what they seek.

When I was a young girl, I wanted a pink freestyle bike so intensely that I just couldn't think about anything else. I came from a divorced family and the only way I knew I was going to have that bike was if my dad bought it. I seen myself having that bike, I knew which brand, model, everything! I even knew where we would go to buy it. I seen myself riding down the street with my friend in the back on the freestyle bars having a great time, before I even owned it! At Christmas, the bike was behind the tree with a ribbon on it.

Everything we are, and everything we have, started as a thought in our mind. Our body is merely there to manifest physically that which the mind tells it to do. Everything starts with you telling the mind what you desire.

Lets all take hold of that Genie within, and start to program it for our good and for the good of humanity. Begin to get excited about YOU. Do not waste precious time on your faults. Change those faults and make them disappear. See the positive images instead. Only think of the fault once; then cross it out and see the image of the "new" YOU. Every minute, every hour, visualize the way you want to be. Get excited about that new YOU.

The Two-Minute Warning

It is interesting to watch football teams on a Sunday afternoon. They spend the first fifty-eight minutes routinely following the game plan they thought would result in victory. Then something rather remarkable happens. An official walks onto the center of the field and announces what has come to be known as the "Two-Minute Warning."

What happens the following one hundred and twenty seconds is frequently awesome. We often witness more intensity, more cleverness, more expended energy and more action compacted into those two final minutes that occurs in the previous fifty-eight. Why?
A sudden awareness of the sense of imminent defeat, and the birth of a new and sharpened sense of urgency. The players know that the clock will show no favoritism. The clock will merely do what a clock does: it will tick away the seconds until the game is finally over.

Same with the human life. We have the potential and the opportunity to outscore "ourselves" early in the game. But sometimes, despite our intentions, we the players make only an average effort until it is too late. The seconds slip into minutes, and the minutes into hours, and the hours into days until we awaken one morning to discover that the moments of opportunity are gone. We spend our final years reliving dreams that might have been, regretting all that never was and now never will be.
Most are afraid to leave this earth with their music still in them, having not ever lived. When the game of life is finally over, there is no second chance to correct our errors. The clock that is ticking away the moments of our lives does not care about winners and losers. It does not care about who succeeds or who fails. It does not care about excuses, fairness or equality. The only essential issue is how we played the game.

We must challenge ourselves right now with a new level of thinking, and drive ourselves toward a new level of achievement. We must impose upon ourselves a new discipline, and develop a new attitude about life that motivates us and inspires others.

Have you ever found yourself at the end of the month, working yourself like the "Two Minute Warning?" How about at the end of the year? Have you ever asked yourself where did all the time go?

I would love to hear some of your comments. What did YOU do to change that?

A Lesson Taken From The Movie "Alive"

Masterminding and gathering information from successful people is no doubt enriching all of our lives. I wanted to share a lesson from my friend Lilith Nix on what she got from watching the movie "Alive."

In October 1972 a plane carrying a Rugby team of 45 from Uraguay to Chile crashes in the Andes. The survivors fend for themselves amidst the cold, in spite of injuries, and with a very limited supply of food. For 72 days they struggle to survive with only 16 actually surviving to be rescued in December.
The weaker survivors of the crash died first and only the strong were left to survive.

The story goes, that they called off the "search and rescue team." This was great news! Great news? Well you might thinking, how can that be great news when the survivors ended up having to eat their teammates just to survive? When the rescue team was called off, this caused the survivors to "think creatively."

Many of us are still "waiting" for the search and rescue team to come and save us. Save us from the economy, hand me a bailout, how's about some entitlement from some disability, how's about you owe me this, and you owe me that? "Come and rescue me" we shout out.

The good news is no one is coming to rescue us. We must now rescue ourselves and take matters and our futures into our own hands.
As entrepreneurs we deal with this daily. We believe "if its meant to be, then it's up to me." And we have adapted the "values" and the "mindset" of an entrepreneur versus the values and the mindset of an employee. This list was shared by my mentor Kellie Hosaka.

Employee Mindset
-Values Security
-Values Money
-Values Survival
-Believes in Struggle
-Believes in Scarcity
-Believes in Competition
"I'll Contribute One Day"
-Looks at the External
-Lives in The Past
-Controls
"I Must Do It Myself"

Entrepreneur
-Values Freedom
-Values Time
-Values Joy, Happiness
-Believes in Ease
-Believes in Abundance
-Believes in We Are One
"I Will Contribute Now"
-Looks Within
-Lives in The Present
-Surrenders
-Trusts the Journey

With this to think about and to decide upon which "mindset" we will shift from and into daily, I'd like to leave you with a quote...
"Always make a total effort, even when the odds are against you."

May love and light continue to guide your path...
